I live in SW Boise, in Boise’s Area of Impact with my husband. We are the proud parents of three teenage boys.

I have served for six years as the president of SWACA, one of the 2 neighborhood associations in SW Boise. You may have met me at a neighborhood meeting, seen me testifying at city hall, or been one of the hundreds of neighbors I have spoken to over the years. Daily I try to make our community better through local channels. It is now time for me to take my energies beyond city hall to make changes that will make a better Idaho for all of us.

I wasn’t born in Idaho, but I moved here as soon as I could, at 1 year old.

My father was a physician at the VA hospital and my mother worked in a lab at a local health clinic. I grew up in Garden City, attended Eagle Hills Elementary, Lowell Scott Middle School and Centennial High School.

I went to college in Helena, Montana at Carroll College and graduated with a degree in Social Work. I spent 20 years as a licensed social worker supporting Idaho children and families. Everyday, I was reminded that:

-Idahoans are good people.

-They help their friends, family and neighbors, even if they don’t have much to give.

-They love their children and want to see them healthy and happy.

- They want to live their lives and enjoy our State without unnecessary rules and regulations and have a ‘live and let live’ attitude.

I became involved in local issues/politics in 2017 when I saw the effects of unmanaged and unplanned growth on SW Ada County. I have served as a volunteer for my community, building relationships with agency staff and elected officials to create positive change . My passion is to influence growth so that each project brings more to the community than it takes, create safe walking and biking spaces for our children, and hold government agencies and elected officials accountable when they do things or support issues that will hurt my neighbors.

Why am I running?

It’s simple, I don’t agree with many of the decisions that my opponent has made in his time at the legislature. My Priorities page outlines my values and issues of importance.

I want to return civility to the Legislature. Citizens take time out of their day, get the courage up to testify at a public hearing, and then too often are not treated in a civil way. Our elected public servants who sit in a position of power should not act as though constituents are a burden.
